Combining deep experience in American public education and international schools, Steve Razidlo brings a uniquely comprehensive perspective to his work as a Senior Consultant with Search Associates. He specializes in Head of School and senior leadership searches, with particular expertise in PLC and MTSS frameworks, IB and AP environments, Special Education services, and CIS, MSA, and NEASC accreditation.
Prior to joining Search Associates, Steve served as Superintendent of Brainerd Public Schools in Minnesota, where his district was honored in 2014 with six of Minnesota's eight National Blue Ribbon School awards. Beginning in 2014, he transitioned to international leadership as Head of School in Austria and Qatar, serving non-profit schools affiliated with the U.S. Office of Overseas Schools. Across these roles, he led schools through strategic planning, facilities improvements, and leadership transitions. His international experience also included closing and opening two international schools during the pandemic. Steve holds a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Maine at Orono and an advanced licensure credential from Saint Cloud State University.
Steve's search philosophy is shaped by his own leadership journey: he seeks qualities of servant leadership and authentic leadership in his preferred candidates. His commitment to DEIJ informed his practice of creating representational hiring teams and candidate pools throughout his tenure as a school director, an approach he brings to every search he conducts.
Steve has been a proud member of CEESA and NESA throughout his international career, reflecting his commitment to regional community and professional collaboration across the school communities he has served.
Now returned to Brainerd, Minnesota, Steve is grateful for the 11 years he and his family experienced international education and expatriate life. A reader, sometime musician, and dedicated runner approaching 40,000 logged kilometers. He brings the same discipline and endurance to his search work that carries him mile after mile on the road.
