The Screening of Overseas Schools: A Search Associates Priority

Search Associates is known for its personal touch, guiding and supporting candidates through every step of their job search and placement process. But there is another powerful way Search cares for its candidates: school screening.

Over the years, Search Associates has made it a strategic goal to increase the quality of its international schools. Schools wishing to be represented by Search must answer carefully considered application questions that help candidates gauge what the work-life experience is like at each respective institution. Subsequently, Search contacts and interviews individuals within the school and its community for their impressions and experiences.

Spearheading this process is School Coordinator Nazgol Adili, who is responsible for sending and receiving all applications to ensure they are complete. The Executive Management Committee (EMC), comprised of President Jessica Magagna, Executive Vice President David Cope, and Vice President Michael Williams then reviews the application and contacts references.

These steps eliminate approximately one-quarter of the applicant overseas schools that do not meet expectations. Approved institutions are carefully monitored over the next several years to ensure that they continue to meet Search's quality standards. If Search Associates is alerted to problems within a school abroad, the Senior Associates will conduct extensive investigations to protect the well-being of their candidates. Associates will also intervene on behalf of their candidates if they feel any mistreatment has taken place. If there is no improvement, those schools may no longer be able to recruit using Search Associates' services.

The Search Associates team is manned by experts with over 500 aggregate years of experience in international education. Their extensive insight and diligence ensures that only the highest quality international schools are presented to their candidates.
