The Grange School, Chile: A Century of Tradition, A Future of Innovation

Just beyond the majestic Andes Mountains, in one of Latin America's most dynamic capitals in the heart of Santiago, The Grange School offers international teachers a vibrant, forward thinking teaching community steeped in nearly 100 years of educational excellence. Rooted in the values of its founding Headmaster, John Jackson, The Grange blends tradition with innovation, fostering an inclusive environment where students in Years 1–13 and educators thrive.

Established in 1928, The Grange sits on a beautifully maintained 92,000-square-meter campus that tells the story of its growth and aspirations. Students benefit from a rich array of facilities that enhance every part of school life. A gymnasium and large pool promote athletic excellence, while computer labs, libraries, and expansive green spaces create a setting where learning and leisure blend naturally. Music rooms, an impressive auditorium, and peaceful gardens add to the campus’s vibrant daily life, offering students and staff inspiring spaces to learn, perform, and connect.

The Grange is accredited by British Schools Overseas and follows the UK national curriculum from Early Years through to A Levels, offering both the International and General Certificates of Secondary Education. With a population of 2,100 students, largely from Chile, the school actively fosters global perspectives by welcoming educators from a wide range of backgrounds.

Life at The Grange extends far beyond the classroom. Students are encouraged to participate in an extraordinary range of extracurricular activities, from competitive sports and the visual and performing arts to outdoor education, sustainability initiatives, and meaningful service projects. Broadening the scope of domestic and international educational trips is a continuing priority, ensuring students gain experiences that help shape them into compassionate, global citizens.

The Grange School invites applications from passionate, certified teachers from around the world, including newly qualified educators, teaching partners, and interns eager to explore the rewards of teaching abroad. Applicants must hold a relevant academic degree in the subject they will teach, and Chile places no upper age restriction on work visas, welcoming educators at all career stages.

International teaching staff enjoy a competitive benefits package, including a moving allowance, annual airfare, complimentary daily lunches, free Spanish lessons, and an 11% contribution to a retirement fund. Health insurance, including dental, life, and long-term disability coverage, is also provided, with the employee contributing a portion. The local community offers additional employment opportunities for non-teaching partners.
