SEARCH attends the 2022 ECIS Teachers Conference

Janelle and Peter SmythThis November 3-5, Senior Associate Peter Smyth and Executive Assistant Janelle Smyth were thrilled to participate in the Educational Collaborative for International Schools (ECIS) 2022 Teachers Conference held at International de Londres Winston Churchill. The conference brought together over 160 delegates from around the world to London for three days of workshops and professional development around the theme of “Refocus and Rethink.”

Search Associates (SEARCH) representatives were able to attend truly inspirational keynotes that started each day. In addition to the presentation from Dr. Andrew Lee from Arts International, Musharaf Asghar of Educating Yorkshire fame shared a moving personal message on how each and every teacher has the power to change lives. Clare Stead, Developer and Founder of the Oliiki app: Parent Education, presented “The Importance of the First 1,000 days on Children's Learning.”

Workshops covered a wide range of topics, and over the weekend, Peter and Janelle attended quite a few. Some notable highlights included “DEIJ Conversations in the Classroom,” delivered by ECIS Executive Director Kam Chohan and ECIS Head of Professional Learning Sarah Kupke; “Building Capacity for Myself and Others” by LaTyia Rolle; and “Child Protection Practice for International Educators,” presented by Debbie Downs from QSI.
