Search Associates Bangkok January Fair 2017

Michael WilliamsHarry DeelmanOn January 8-11, 2017, Senior Associates Michael Williams and Harry Deelman hosted the Bangkok January Job Fair. Held at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, the Bangkok January Fair is an excellent opportunity for international schools to find high quality candidates.

Staff from Shanghai Community International SchoolWith 124 international schools and 580 candidates from around the world in attendance, the Bangkok January Fair is one of Search Associates’ largest events. This year’s fair featured a strong crop of international schools from over 44 countries. More than half of the schools came from Asia, with plenty of others coming from the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and Latin America.

The four-day event featured a myriad of opportunities for candidates and recruiters to connect and to attend special presentations, receptions, and interviews. As always, the Royal Orchid Hotel was an excellent host for the fair, with multiple attendees praising its convenient location and supportive staff.

Search Associates was also proud to host the following community service organizations: FairNIST, a fair trade coffee collective organized by a group of international schools in Bangkok and run by the schools’ students; United World Schools, which provides free education to out-of-school children living in post-conflict communities; and the Foundation for the Education of Rural Children, whose raffle at the fair raised money for local children in Thailand to go to school.
