School on Korean Paradise Island Hires Search to Seek Head

Branksome Hall in Toronto, known as Canada’s premier school for girls, has been around for 112 years. In 2012, its sister school, Branksome Hall Asia (BHA) was established in a stunning part of the world, Jeju Island, South Korea. Senior Associates Barry Drake and Ray Sparks have been named lead consultants in the search for its new Head of School.

Branksome Hall Asia is an international K-12 day boarding school, predominantly for girls. The school, whose first graduates will be the class of 2015, offers all three levels of the International Baccalaureate (IB) programs. Its inclusive exchange program with Branksome Hall, Toronto, enables all students to live and learn amongst their peers in Canada. Teachers also participate in exchanges as part of their on-going professional development.

Located off the southern coast of South Korea, Jeju, a volcanic island, is considered a UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for its pure shores, pristine landscapes, picturesque cliff sides, and fantastic rocks. Branksome Hall Asia not only offers a pristine natural environment, but it also boasts state-of-the-art facilities: an Olympic indoor swimming center, an Olympic standard ice arena under construction, a STEM V education hub, a Performing Arts Center, and modern residential facilities. For these reasons, it was awarded first prize in the 2012 national architecture and construction awards.

Branksome Hall Asia is looking for a head, preferably with boarding school and IB administrator experience. The school is looking for a leader who will oversee the expansion of the school as it grows from its projected 400 in 2015 students to over 800, to be overseen by a faculty of 100. The deadline for applications is Monday, November 29, 2013. Click here for complete information about this position, the preferred candidate profile, and the application process.
