New Opportunity to Teach Abroad in Doha

Launched in August 2019, The Hamilton International School (THIS) is a growing and resource-rich international school in Qatar. The school is currently open for children from pre-K to Grade 10 with plans to grow each year to eventually become an all-through school by the 2024/25 academic year. Currently enrolled are just under 800 students, representing over 76 nationalities! This school’s family of staff members numbers 150.

THIS is part of International Schools Partnership (ISP), a UK-based group of global schools. ISP also operates Park House English School, one of Doha’s oldest schools. THIS is currently undergoing the accreditation process with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The school offers an exciting and innovative international curriculum that meets the U.S. Common Core Standards so that students will graduate with an accredited High School Diploma (HSD). To give students the opportunity to follow an alternative pathway in Grades 11 and 12, THIS intends to apply for International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum authorization so that students may prepare for and earn an IB Diploma.

Licensed by the Qatar Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Hamilton’s brand-new purpose-built campus offers a range of world-class facilities, with spacious, well-resourced classrooms and natural light flooding all learning areas. Some outstanding features are as follows:

  • The largest theatre of any school in Qatar, with an auditorium and balcony to seat over 850 guests, an orchestra pit, a large stage, and a fully equipped production room. As THIS is nurturing a fully-fledged, performing arts program, its facilities are used to host concerts, performances, and other events.
  • A large, black box performing space
  • Exceptional music and production facilities with soundproof rooms; practice rooms; and a sound editing suite, enabling its students to fully experience and appreciate all aspects of producing and executing a performance
  • A dedicated indoor sports center, including a full-sized basketball court, two swimming pools, tennis courts, dance studios, and a fitness center as well as seating for large sporting events
  • Outside sporting facilities, encompassing a professional standard football pitch and an athletic track that has set a new standard for schools in Doha
  • World-class science laboratories and ICT suites equipped with the latest digital learning technology

THIS hires qualified teachers of diverse profiles wishing to teach abroad, including newly certified candidates and couples with a non-teaching spouse. Teachers must hold an academic degree in their specialty. Overseas teachers up to the age of 50 may obtain a work visa.

THIS offers an overseas teaching benefits package which includes a competitive, non-taxed salary, allowances for relocation and accommodation along with annual airfare. Additionally, THIS provides full tuition for the first child and 50% off tuition fees for the second and additional children. Local health insurance is fully paid by the school. Opportunities for professional development in this expanding school are provided.
