New High School Principal Appointed in Dhaka

The High School Principal search at the American International School Dhaka (AISD) in Dhaka, Bangladesh has been completed. Founder John Magagna and Senior Associate Ralph Jahr report that Mr. Robert Doyle has been appointed the new High School Principal, beginning in August 2016.

Robert is currently High School Assistant Principal at the Anglo American School of Moscow in Russia, a position he has held since 2010. Before moving to administration, Mr. Doyle taught high school English in Canada, Indonesia, and Egypt. He was also a stay-at-home dad when his two children were young. Mr. Doyle earned an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Regis University in Colorado, U.S. and a B.A. in History at Simon Fraser University in Canada. Joining Robert is his wife, Nicole, an educator as well, who has worked at the early childhood level and as a librarian/media specialist.

Modern and spacious, AISD covers a 4.5-acre site in a residential area of Dhaka where the majority of the expatriate population in Dhaka lives. The fully air-conditioned buildings house 60 classrooms and all aspects of a well-appointed school: two libraries, four fully-equipped science and computer labs, gymnasiums, an auditorium/theater, art and music facilities, playgrounds, athletic fields, and a covered 25-meter swimming pool. AISD provides buses to and from school as well as for after-school activities and field trips. Students have many opportunities to participate in drama, music, art, dance, cooking, computers, special interest groups, social events, and sports. Annual trips to Thailand, Malaysia, and other areas of Bangladesh are arranged for the students in Grades 6-12.

AISD, whose goal is to enable students to integrate into any English-speaking school system, is recognized and accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), the Council of International Schools (CIS), and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). The curriculum for AISD's 750 students includes the IB Primary Years Program for elementary school and the IB Diploma Program for Grades 11 and 12.

Search Associates congratulates Mr. Robert Doyle and the entire AISD community on their exciting new partnership.
