Join the Ever-Evolving American International School, Vietnam

Another overseas teaching opportunity awaits you at the American International School, Vietnam (AIS). Established in 2006, the pre-K-12, coeducational institution includes an elementary school in District 1 and a Pre-K-12 campus in the Nha Be district. Currently 998 predominantly Vietnamese students receive an American-style education, with the option of taking some Advanced Placement (AP) courses in their final years of high school. AIS, Vietnam has been an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School since 2010 and is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC.)

AIS has a unique faculty. The average class size at AIS is approximately 20 students, with a 1:8 teacher to student ratio. Of the 167 teaching staff, many hold credentials from North America, with other teachers holding credentials from Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. The high school attracts a diverse faculty of native English speakers, with roughly over half drawn from the U.S., 8.3% from Canada, and another 8.3% from the U.K. Half of the faculty holds an advance degree, with 60% of the faculty having previous international teaching experience.

AIS's first preference for hiring would be married teaching couples without dependents, but they are happy to consider singles with or without dependents and married couples with dependents or a non-teaching spouse. They are interested in outstanding, newly-certified teachers with limited experience but not interns. While there is no age limit to obtain a work visa, teachers must be certificated to apply for one.

Teachers would see considerable savings with the AIS salary and benefits package. They are awarded a settling- in and monthly housing allowance as well as airfare every two years. Tuition is free for a teacher's first two children and 50% for a third. AIS Vietnam also provides a stipend to cover documentation fees. Health insurance comprises local, worldwide, and emergency evacuation. The worldwide coverage does not include Japan, Hong Kong, Canada, and the U.S. covers a 30-day emergency only.

A warm welcome from the 2017-18 staff
