Accredited by AdvancED/Cognia, SHBS currently enrolls 280 students in Grades 6-12, exclusively for Chinese passport holders as per government regulations. The inquiry-based learning program offers both A Levels and Advanced Placement courses, with about 70% of the teaching staff being Chinese.
SHBS hires experienced overseas teaching candidates, considering both singles and couples, including those with a non-teaching partner, and seasoned teachers without certification. Candidates do not need to hold an academic degree in the subject they will be teaching. Government regulations allow those up to the age of 60 to obtain a work visa.
The international teaching benefits package includes moving and housing allowances as well as annual airfare. Tuition and all on-campus meals are free for dependents in Grades 8-12.
