International Teaching at Victoria Academy: Join a Bilingual Learning Environment in Yunlin, Taiwan

Victoria Academy welcomes you to its bilingual learning environment where positive character development and academic excellence are cultivated. Established in 2000, Victoria Academy delivers a K–12 curriculum that fosters the full development of students' talents.

Yunlin countrysideThe school is located in the non-metropolitan county of Yunlin in central Taiwan, bordering mountainous Nantou County to the east. Coffee is among the many products grown in the region’s plains. Yunlin was known in the 1950s and 60s as a center for hand puppetry, with performances being highly popular. Today, visitors can explore puppets and puppet stages from various eras at the Yunlin Hand Puppets Museum, now housed in a Japanese Victorian-style building. Visitors often travel to Beigang in southern Yunlin to visit one of the most classic examples of Taiwanese temple architecture, the Beigang Chaotian Temple. The area also hosts fairs and festivities. Beigang Old Street, stretching several blocks from the temple to the river, is a wonderful place to shop and enjoy traditional foods.

Accredited by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan, Victoria Academy currently enrolls more than 1,000 students, most of whom are Taiwanese. Seventy-five percent of the teaching staff are from Taiwan as well. The school delivers a bilingual curriculum, the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, all through inquiry-based learning.

Victoria Academy hires overseas teaching candidates of diverse profiles, including couples with a non-teaching partner, newly certified teachers, and experienced candidates without certification.
