Experience Exceptional Teaching Facilities in Jordan at ICS

Experience overseas teaching with the International Community School, Amman, Jordan (ICS) resting on 11 acres, surrounded by the rolling hills and open fields of rural Na’our. ICS is a purpose-built campus with extraordinary facilities and resources providing an opportunity for world-class international teaching. With only a short drive from the life and energy of urban Amman, the capital, and largest city of Jordan, combines the amenities of a modern metropolis with ancient historical and heritage ruins.

ICS takes pride in its state-of-the-art campus. In addition to a gymnasium, library, and five fully equipped science labs, ICS boasts a Sports Hall with two full-size basketball courts and seating for over 200 spectators. The Fitness Suite, to which the wider community is also invited, holds a variety of weight and cardio machines, free weights, and boxing equipment while a 2,000 square meter outdoor space, covered with astroturf, ensures unhindered sport competitions as well as safe play. Built to support the Occupational Therapy Department, a Sensory Room with balance beams, swings, a ball pit, and foam blocks welcomes students with sensory issues as well as the youngest students, who enjoy sensory play.

Moreover, two well-stocked art rooms, and a designated space for A-Level students to store artwork and installations, provide the means for drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpting, sewing, and digital design. The Drama Studio, with its performance-standard sound technology and full range of lighting, supports a wide range of staging styles, while its studio-style theatre doubles as the main drama classroom. A Dance Studio is home to a wide range of dance classes, including ballet, musical performance, and contemporary. Two dedicated music classrooms and additional rehearsal spaces are used for informal performances and recitals showcasing a wide variety of instruments. The Multi-purpose Hall (MPH), equipped with a PA system with radio microphones and a grand piano, is used for large performances, group or individual presentations, and whole school assemblies.

ICS’s newly designed Early Years space, The Hive, envelops themed gardens, wandering paths, and educational sensory environments, with all facilities necessary to foster curiosity, wonder, and discovery for its youngest learners. Indoor zones, with access to technology, are designed to support the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum where students take charge of their own learning. In addition to specialized zones for gross motor development and core strengthening, The Hive offers the children the joy and wonder of tending their own garden.

The brand-new ICS Maker Space, with its 3D printers, coding equipment, and technology to bolster STEM education, inspires wonder and provokes curiosity while enabling collaboration across the barriers of distance, class, and culture. The glass-fronted Maker Space gives students power and agency to innovate and solve the most pressing problems of their time.

For students in Years 12 and 13, the Sixth Form Centre has been designed for study, focus, and relaxation during break and study periods. Individual and group seating as well as private spaces for concentration and reflection elicit both creativity and independence. A reading corner, reference section, and cafe area complete the Centre.

ICS is fully accredited by a host of organizations: the Council of International Schools, (CIS), Brtish Schools in the Middle East (BSME), British Schools Overseas (BSO), the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), and the Middle States Association (MSA). The school delivers a British national curriculum, from the Early Years through A Levels as well as the General/International General Certificate of Secondary Education. Currently enrolled are 722 students representing 60 nationalities. Twenty-five percent of the students and 38% of the teaching staff are from Jordan.
