Epsom College in Malaysia: A Global International School with Heart and Excellence

Epsom College in Malaysia (ECiM), located in Bandar Enstek, Negeri Sembilan, invites you to join a vibrant international community where educators and staff collaborate in a collegial and dynamic environment. As the only sister campus of the historic Epsom College in the UK, ECiM offers a truly connected international school experience. Regardless of location, students benefit from the same exceptional standards of education, care, and character development.

Established in 2014, ECiM builds upon the legacy of its founding institution, Epsom College UK—honored as the UK’s Independent School of the Year in 2022 and founded under the royal patronage of Queen Victoria in 1855.

Today, ECiM is a proud member of leading global and regional educational organizations, including the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), the Boarding Schools Association, Round Square, the Federation of British International Schools in Asia, the Council of International Schools, and the Association of International Malaysian Schools. The school has also been named one of the Top 10 International Schools in Southeast Asia by CARFAX Education and has received 25 commendations across ten COBIS standards.

The academic program follows the UK National Curriculum, with students preparing for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and A Levels. The school community includes 665 students from pre-K through Year 13, representing 27 nationalities. The international teaching faculty mirrors this diversity, with educators from 27 different countries, including a strong representation of Malaysian teachers. This inclusive environment reflects the school’s commitment to global citizenship and intercultural understanding.

Malaysia is known for its rich cultural heritage, welcoming communities, and strong record of public safety —making it an appealing destination for international educators. The cost of living is significantly lower than in many Western countries, and English is widely spoken, helping newcomers adapt quickly both on campus and in the wider community. Strategically located in the heart of Southeast Asia, Malaysia offers an ideal base for travel and discovery.

ECiM’s green, spacious campus is designed to inspire learning and well-being. Just 15 minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport and surrounded by peaceful residential areas, the school’s location balances convenience with tranquility.

The campus itself is a thoughtfully designed environment that supports the holistic development of learners. Facilities include purpose-built classrooms, modern laboratories, performance venues, and creative studios. The extensive outdoor areas—featuring sports pitches, a cricket pavilion, a golf range, and a swimming pool—encourage healthy lifestyles and teamwork. These facilities are designed to foster meaningful relationships, inspire creativity, and support student well-being.

A cornerstone of the ECiM experience is its boarding program, offered from Year 5 onwards. Students live in safe, supportive residential settings where they develop independence and close connections. Shared spaces such as the dining hall, café, library, and common rooms enhance the sense of belonging and contribute to a warm, inclusive community culture for students and staff alike.

Accredited by COBIS, ECiM is one of only six member schools worldwide to receive Double Beacon Status, recognizing outstanding performance in Student Welfare and School Leadership. This distinction designates ECiM as a COBIS training school, entrusted to mentor and guide other institutions in best practice.

Beyond academics, ECiM offers extensive co-curricular opportunities that support the development of confident, well-rounded learners. Specialist programs include elite coaching in tennis, football, and golf. The AI Digital Technology Programme equips students with future-ready skills in coding, robotics, artificial intelligence, and digital media.

Students are encouraged to broaden their perspectives through enriching experiences such as the World Scholar’s Cup, where they engage in collaborative writing, debate, and global challenges. The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award further nurtures leadership, resilience, and service learning.

ECiM’s Performing Arts Programme enlivens the entire community, showcasing annual theatre productions, music festivals, and ensemble performances. The Epsom Music Academy provides professional instruction in voice and instruments, encouraging artistic expression and confidence.

ECiM warmly welcomes certified and experienced educators from a wide range of backgrounds, including teaching couples and individuals with non-teaching partners. Teachers do not need to hold a degree in the specific subject they will teach. In accordance with local regulations, candidates may apply for a work visa up to the age of 60.

The compensation package includes furnished housing, relocation support, and a 90% airfare discount. Through ECiM’s exclusive partnership with AirAsia, the region’s largest low-cost airline, teachers and their families enjoy generous discounts on flights—unlocking countless opportunities for regional exploration.  The school covers tuition and lunches for up to three children of international teaching staff and provides professional development, local health insurance (including dental and long-term disability). There are local employment opportunities for non-teaching partners.
