Daystar Academy, Beijing China

Search Associates is pleased to welcome Daystar Academy in Beijing, China to its catalog of first-class schools. The school began in 2002 in a tiny room with three students, two teachers, one administrator, one Ayi (housekeeper), and a dream: to raise bilingual children as world citizens with a deep appreciation and knowledge of Chinese and western cultures. Currently, Daystar has over 350 students of 18 nationalities from ages 24 months to 12. The school is in the process of receiving authorization from the International Baccalaureate Organization to offer the Primary Years Program.

Daystar Academy’s appealing benefits package includes a settling-in allowance, health insurance that includes worldwide emergency coverage, and a tuition fee reduction for teachers’ children. Single teachers and couples can expect to save approximately $20,000 and $26,000, respectively. Daystar welcomes applications from married teaching couples, married couples with only one teaching spouse, and single teachers. The current staff includes six teachers from North America, two from the U.K., and 40 from China.
