2019 WIDA Conference in Rhode Island

Tiffany and NazgolSchool and Marketing Coordinators Nazgol Adili and Tiffany Young Yannelli, respectively, represented Search Associates (SEARCH)  at the WIDA Conference in Providence, Rhode Island, October 15–18. The theme was Teaching for Equity in a Multi-Lingual World.

Each year, WIDA hosts what they call “A conference by teachers for teachers,” designed for educators of pre-K–12 multilingual learners. Educators from around the globe gather to network, share best practices, and discover innovative classroom strategies. Reviewed and selected by a panel of experts in the field of multilingual education, all hour and 15-minute sessions are conceived and led by fellow teachers. This year’s three keynote speakers were Dr. Sonia Nieto, Professor Emerita of Language, Literacy, and Culture; Senior Scientist Margaret Heritage; and Author/Poet José Olivarez.

Nazgol and Tiffany welcomed many potential candidates at the SEARCH table in Exhibitors Hall.
