Dear Colleagues,

 

On behalf of Dr. Nneka Johnson, the Director of the International School of Dakar, Senegal, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Giles Pinto as the new Secondary Principal to commence in August 2026.

 

Giles has a Master of Education, Counselling Psychology, a Master of Arts, South Asian Studies and a Bachelor of Education, Special Education Qualification & Honors Specialist in English all from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts, English Literature (First-Class Honors) from the University of Alberta.

 

In her announcement to the school community. Dr. Johnson said,

“Giles brings extensive experience in international education and Secondary School leadership. His career has spanned high-performing IB Continuum schools and several countries, including Thailand, Japan, the Bahamas, and Canada. Giles has expertise in pedagogy, leadership, counseling, and program development, and what resonated strongly with our community is his perspective, educational vision, and collaborative approach.

As an experienced, forward-thinking, and inclusive educational leader who is community-focused and person-centered, Giles will be a great fit for our ISD community.

We look forward to welcoming Giles and his wife, Marlene, to ISD in August.”
