Dear Seach Associate Colleagues,

Jeremy and I are thrilled to announce the appointment of Amanda Sunderman as Director of the American International School of Vilnius commencing in the 2025-26 school year.

Jason Brown, Chair of the School Board and US Embassy representative to the board, recently announced her appointment to the AISV school community, stating:

The search for our new Director attracted a strong field of candidates, with over 50 individuals applying for the position.  Dr. Sunderman will be joining us this fall under a contract that extends through the 2028/2029 school year. We are confident that her leadership will bring continued growth and success to our institution.

The board would like to extend its sincere gratitude to all the parents, students, teachers, staff, and school leadership who dedicated their time and effort to provide valuable feedback and logistical support throughout this important process. Your engagement was instrumental in selecting the head of the school best suited to Connect, Inspire, and Empower our kids and the whole community. The AISV Board is looking forward with great anticipation to Dr. Sunderman’s tenure. We are excited for the future of AISV under her capable leadership and vision.

Dr. Sunderman brings extensive international leadership experience to AISV including three years as Head of School at Tarsus American College and four years as Director of Teaching and Learning and Primary Principal at I-Shou International School in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

She noted:

While visiting AISV, I was impressed with how the mission of Connect, Inspire, and Empower is woven throughout the school culture.  AISV is a small school with a big heart, and I am pleased to be joining the community.

We wish to thank all those who applied for this leadership role and all in the AISV community for their sincere efforts in determining the most effective new leader for their school.

Kind regards,

Barbara & Jeremy
