Dear Search Associates Colleagues,

On behalf of Carol Morgan School in the Dominican Republic and their Head of School Dr. Brian Kelly, I am also pleased to announce that Ms. Amie Weldy has been appointed as the new Director of Teaching and Learning beginning in August 2025.

Amie brings over a decade of educational leadership experience from both the United States and Colombia, where she has demonstrated a deep commitment to student success, staff development, and innovation in learning. Most recently, she has served as Principal at a charter high school near Denver, Colorado, where her achievements include leading a school-wide Project-Based Learning initiative, earning Colorado’s first high school Cognia STEM Certification, and fostering nearly 100% staff retention through collaborative leadership. 

In his letter to the community, Dr. Kelly noted, “Her background in strategic planning, student support, and professional development will serve our school community well as she leads and enhances our teaching and learning initiatives.”

Carol Morgan School is also excited to welcome her husband, Christian Holmes, as their new Director of Learning Innovation and Technology.

Amie and Christian will be joined by their 5-year-old daughter, who will enter 1st grade and is eagerly looking forward to joining the student community. Dr. Kelly added, “Their passion for fostering inquiry-based and bilingual learning makes them an excellent fit for our school, and we are confident that their experience and vision will be instrumental in helping us continue to achieve our mission and strategic goals.”

 Search Associates extends thanks to Dr. Kelly and the Carol Morgan School Search Committee members for their effective partnership during the search process for their new Director of Teaching and Learning. Furthermore, Search Associates extends thanks to all of the candidates who applied for the position, and to everyone who played a part in the successful search process.
