On behalf of the Governing Council of the International School of Latvia and the ISL Search Committee, we are pleased to announce that Mr. Paul Johnson has been appointed as the new Director, beginning in August 2025.

Mr. Johnson has most recently served as the Head of School at KIS International School in Bangkok, Thailand (2019-2023).  Other leadership roles include Deputy Director/High School Principal at the American Embassy School in New Delhi, India (2014-2019), Middle School Principal, High School Principal at Saigon South International School in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam (2009-2014) and High School Assistant Principal, Pudong Campus, Shanghai American School in Shanghai, China (2006-2009).


Mr. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education at Central Michigan University, a Master’s in Secondary School Education at the University of New Mexico, and a Master’s in Educational Leadership at Lehigh University.  


The Governing Council of the International School of Latvia, the ISL Search Committee, and Search Associates would like to
