St. Paul’s is a strong advocate of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, available to all Pauleans aged 14–18. The school seeks to hire overseas teachers who are experienced, certified teachers of diverse profiles, including couples with a non-teaching partner. Candidates must hold an academic degree in the subject they will be teaching. There is no age limit for certified teachers to obtain a work visa in Brazil.
The overseas teacher benefits package includes a housing package, basic furniture, and airfare every two years, after the initial flight. In addition, St. Paul’s contributes 4% to a retirement plan. The school covers tuition for up to two children, with the teacher paying a small administration fee. Other benefits include subsidized lunch, morning and afternoon coffee, fees for sports. Local health insurance, including life and dental; employees pay a small fee when visiting doctors, taking exams, and visiting hospitals for quick consultations.
