Search Associates is dedicated to helping candidates secure positions in international schools. Senior Associate and Consultant, Gez Hayden , is offering this year’s second round of seminars and workshops in Southern Africa, October 12th – 17th. Three years ago, Gez, who helps candidates currently living outside of the USA, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand find jobs in international schools overseas, began the seminars and workshops entitled, "Making Your International School Job Search Work." Gez explained,
"The seminars and workshops started in response to teachers’ needs. [We wanted] to open Southern African teachers’ eyes to Search Associates’ services, to the international school world, and to how the Johannesburg job fair can help them step onto the international school circuit."
The information seminars, for those considering an international school career, describes the world of international schools and encourages attendees to ask if this is a context in which they would thrive and be happy. It helps teachers decide if they have the right characteristics, experience, and qualifications to succeed as a Search candidate. It explains the role of Search Associates in helping candidates secure positions and the importance of the online candidate profile and confidential references.
The workshops are for candidates in Southern Africa who have already established a professional file with Search Associates, and who are fully activated and referenced. Candidates learn how to optimize their applications and hone their interviewing skills. They also learn how to make the most out job fair attendance and the Search Associates’ database, plus how to research curricula offered by international schools.
Gez, who has a particular interest in the three International Baccalaureate programs, plus the IPC and the IMYC, organizes the London-January and Johannesburg Search Associates Job Fairs in addition to conducting international school leadership searches.
