Overseas Teaching Opportunities in Guangzhou

The goal of International School–Science City (ISASC) is to be a premier K–12 day and boarding school servicing the diverse needs of families. The new campus—connected to the well-established ISA International School Guangzhou and set to open September 2020—is committed to delivering outstanding learning opportunities in an international setting in China.

ISASC also aims to ensure that access to a globally-recognized curriculum as well as to additional programs will be provided to all enrolled students so that they can enjoy international mobility. By fusing international and Chinese educational practices and traditions, ISASC will create a new model of high-quality education which prepares students for life-long learning as well as a fulfilling future.

Students at ISASC will be internationally-minded but grounded in their own unique, cultural identity; the maintenance of their mother tongue is of utmost importance, but the quality of the English and Chinese language programs ensures the fluency of every child in both languages.

ISASC expects an initial enrollment of about 700 students at the start of the school year. The school will begin by offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years and Middle Years Programmes and has plans to add the Diploma Programme. ISASC is seeking to obtain accreditation with the Council of International Schools and the National Center for Competency Testing.

ISASC seeks to hire a diverse mixture of certified and experienced singles and couples, including those with a non-teaching partner. They will also consider those certified in a non-English speaking country. Teachers must possess an academic degree in the subject they will be teaching. Certified candidates up to the age of 60 may obtain a work visa.

The benefits package includes a moving allowance, housing, and one annual, round-trip airfare. For a teaching couple, tuition is free for up to two children. At the end of their contract, teachers receive an 8% gratuity. One of ISASC’s core commitments is ongoing professional development for all staff, teaching and non-teaching. This development includes, but is not limited to, internal one-on-one coaching and mentoring, internal workshops and training, and external workshops and conferences. Worldwide health insurance—except for the U.S.—is fully covered. The ISASC package is chance for excellent savings or for a family of four to live on one salary. There are local employment opportunities for non-teaching partners as well.
