Colegio Bolivar: A Quality School in Colombia

Colegio Bolivar (CB) has just been added to Search Associates' catalog of high-caliber international schools. Founded in 1947, CB is a bi-lingual, college-preparatory school located on a thirty-five-acre site at the foothills of the Andes. Spanning this beautiful campus is ten classroom blocks, several athletic fields, a science building, a library/media center, an auditorium, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, a cafeteria, an administration area, and a great deal of open space. Though 15 nationalities are represented at the school, 95% of the 1,271 pre-K-12, bi-lingual students are Colombian. The teaching staff comprises 42 from N. America and 127 from Colombia. CB, accredited by both AdvancEd and the Colombian Ministry of Education, offers its high school students Advanced Placement (AP).

CB is interested in hiring singles and married teachers, with or without dependents. CB only hires certificated teachers and has less interest in hiring interns or married couples with non-teaching spouses. Outstanding, newly-certified teachers with limited experience are welcome to apply. There is no age limit to obtain a work visa.

Benefits include annual airfare and a housing allowance, as well as a stipend for the cost to move, settle in, and purchase new furniture. Teachers enjoy an 80% tuition benefit for their children. CB provides local and worldwide, major medical health insurance as well as long-term disability coverage.
