2018 Search East Asia Fair

Search Associates launched its recruiting season with the new Search East Asia Fair on October 19–20 this year. A total of 147 candidates met with recruiters from 30 schools at the ISS Singapore International School.

Search East Asia is a regional fair for schools in Cambodia, China (including Hong Kong), Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Attending schools must offer at least two of the International Baccalaureate and/or British International curricula. Senior Associate Gez Hayden was pleased with the positive feedback. One recruiter said:

“The fair targets candidates and schools teaching International Baccalaureate programmes and the British International Curriculum, which is good for both sides. Although our school is a school with three international programs, A-level, AP, and IBDP, we still welcome the fairs with specific division of curriculum."

Another recruiter called fairs run by Gez and Executive Assistant Amelia Ren-Hayden “consistently highly organized.” A third complimented the candidate pool:

“All of the candidates had international school experience and so understood the challenges facing students in the classroom.”

The organizers look forward to the second East Asia Fair, to be held in Singapore in October 2019, at another host school. Job fairs provide an incomparable opportunity to broaden one’s horizons: networking; sharing ideas and experiences with like-minded individuals; getting face-to-face, personalized support from Associates; and planting seeds for future opportunities.
